Indraprastha College for Women provides well-maintained, secure, and student-centric residential facilities through its two hostels — KG Student Residence (established in 1956; renovated in 2017) and IP Student Residence (established in 2009; renovated in 2018). Both residences reflect the institution’s sustained commitment to safety, discipline, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
The hostels are equipped with solar water heaters, elevators for convenient access to upper floors, 24-hour power backup, and uninterrupted water supply. Security is ensured through comprehensive CCTV surveillance. Each residence functions under the supervision of a resident Matron, ensuring effective administration, student welfare, and adherence to hostel regulations. The IP Student Residence also includes air-conditioned facilities as part of its infrastructure.
Accommodation is provided in spacious twin-sharing rooms furnished with beds, mattresses, study tables, chairs, wardrobes, book racks, adequate lighting, and plug points. Shared toilet facilities are organized in clusters to ensure hygiene and convenience. The KG Student Residence incorporates dedicated facilities for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), including specially designed accessible rooms and toilets on the ground floor.
The ground floors of both residences house essential facilities such as the hostel office, medical room (equipped with a bed, stretcher, wheelchair, and first-aid kit), dining hall, and common or assembly areas. A student-managed laundromat operates within the premises for residents’ convenience.
Each floor includes well-equipped kitchen areas with refrigerators, microwave ovens, water coolers, and dishwashing sinks. Additional amenities include visitors’ lobbies, recreational and common rooms, landscaped lawns, designated interaction spaces, and separate visitors’ accommodation. Access to sports facilities further enhances the residential experience.
The IP Student Residence fee structure is prescribed by the College administration and is subject to revision in accordance with institutional norms.
Together, the KG and IP Student Residences provide a safe, inclusive, and academically conducive residential environment, contributing significantly to the holistic development of students.
